To celebrate the launch of the new Demographic Science Unit, we opened up six research positions. Four are now closed but the following two will be advertised shortly on our vacancies page:
- Florence Nightingale Fellowship, jointly shared with Department of Statistics at the University of Oxford
- Senior Research Fellow in Pandemic & Disaster Preparedness
The following vacancies are now sadly closed:
Postdoctoral Researcher in Data Donation & Computational Methods - *Applications closed*
Join Professor Melinda Mills' ERC Advanced Grant CHRONO team at LCDS. You will fuse multiple types of high dimensional data to examine the role of biology, socio-economic and environmental context and their interaction on predicting and understanding health and family outcomes.
Apply here by 12:00 noon UK time on 1st September 2023 for this fixed-term appointment for a period of 3 years at grade 7, £36,024-44,263.
Postdoctoral Researcher in Intergenerational Family Genomics - *Applications closed*
Join Professor Melinda Mills and Professor Augustine Kong's sociogenomics and statistical genetics group funded by LCDS and the Connecting Generations Centre. The postholder will lead and work on intergenerational and family statistical genomics research in the context of the transmission of behavioural and disease outcomes.
Apply here by 12:00 noon UK time on 4th September 2023 for this fixed-term appointment for a period of 3 years at grade 7, £36,024-44,263.
Postdoctoral Researcher in Population Data Science - *Applications closed*
Join Dr Douglas Leasure's World Health Organization (WHO) Ukraine Population Project at LCDS and Oxford Population Health. You will lead data science aspects of the project, designing automated tools to collect digital trace data from social media and other sources, glean valuable information from household surveys in collaboration with external partners, and develop new approaches to utilise spatial data (e.g. conflict event locations) and remote sensing (e.g. nighttime lights) to support real-time population estimation.
Apply here by noon on 8th September 2023 for this full time, fixed term post for 2 years at grade 7, £36,024-44,263.
Senior Research Fellow in Bayesian Digital Demography - *Applications closed*
Join Dr Douglas Leasure’s World Health Organization (WHO) Ukraine Population Project at LCDS and Oxford Population Health. You will lead development of novel Bayesian statistical approaches to estimate current population sizes and internal displacement patterns (i.e. migration probabilities) on a daily time step using digital trace data from social media and other sources, spatial data (e.g. geolocated conflict events), remote sensing (e.g. nighttime lights), and survey data.
Apply here by noon on 8th September 2023 for this full time, fixed term post for 2 years at grade 8, £45,585-54,395.
