DPhil student

Micol’s research lies at the intersection of demography, migration studies, and network science. She specialises in using computational methods and non-traditional data sources to address migration questions. In her doctoral project, Micol draws from social network analysis, micro-simulation, and big data to investigate the drivers and patterns of human mobility. Micol’s work is supported by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and Nuffield College, University of Oxford. Micol is also affiliated with the Lab of Digital and Computational Demography at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR) in Rostock, Germany, as part of the IMPRS-PHDS doctoral school.

Before joining the LCDS and the MPIDR as a doctoral student, she completed an MPhil in Sociology and Demography at the University of Oxford, Nuffield College, and worked as a research manager at the Harvard Kennedy School.
