Su Yeon Jang
Su Yeon is a Research Fellow in Health and Social Care at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing. Her research focuses on health inequalities in ageing societies, with a particular emphasis on migrant populations. Prior to joining Oxford, Su Yeon completed her doctoral training for a PhD in Public Health at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research and the Erasmus MC, University Medical Center Rotterdam. Her dissertation examines and compares healthy ageing of immigrant and native-born populations, measuring their long-term health in terms of the accumulation of chronic conditions.
Su Yeon’s first degree was in Nursing from Seoul National University, where she qualified as a registered nurse in South Korea. She then pursued her interest in population health by completing a Master's degree in Global Urban Health at the University of Freiburg. Following this, she worked as a Researcher in Preventive Medicine at Kyung Hee University School of Medicine before her doctoral studies.
