Hanna is a historical demographer whose research focuses on the drivers and patterns of long-term change in mortality and fertility in Europe, with particular attention to Great Britain and Estonia. Her work leverages the expanding availability of historical “big data” to investigate key questions surrounding fertility and mortality transitions in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
